About Me

My name is Ashlyn Lessenberry, and I would like to welcome you to my blog "Beauty and the South". I am starting this blog to give some incite into the world of a southern girl. Everybody has a different way of life, and this blog is about mine. The title of the blog has a underlining meaning. My middle name is Belle, and in French, Spanish, and Latin it means beauty. Belle, for me, comes from the princess in the movie "Beauty and the Beast".The movie gave me the idea for the title and the theme of the blog.  This first blog post is going to give some background information in to my life. It is my about me post.

As I said earlier, my name is Ashlyn Lessenberry. I am 19 years old and I am currently in college, but I have switched majors many times. I always thought i wanted to be a Teacher, but i changed my mind two years into the program. Then I changed to Business Management, then to Computer Science, but now I am changing it again to Criminal Justice. I truly believe this is what i want to do, and hope I don't have to change my major again. I have a big family. I have two brothers and two sisters. I am the oldest, then there is Bailey, Hayden, Lauren, and Ryan. Bailey is 20 years old and is a Nursing Major in College. Hayden is 19 years old and a Business Management Major in College. Lauren is 15 years old and attends High School. She plays volleyball, basketball, and softball. She is also a member of the high school band. Ryan, the baby of the family, is 14 years old. He is in the 8th grade and goes to Middle School. He plays football, basketball, and baseball. 

 Then there is my mom, J'Ann and my dad Lee. My mom is a Family Practice Doctor, but she does consulting for nursing homes all over the state. She is my role model and my inspiration for everything.  My dad is the E.R. Manager at Saline Memorial Hospital. He is also a nurse, paramedic, and a firefighter.  My family spends most nights and weekends at the ballpark, gym, or sporting event. If we are nor at a sporting event then we are usually watching it on television. Since the age of five I have played some kind of sport. In my life I have played softball, soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball, tennis, track, and cross country. I was also a cheerleader for pee wee football teams, but I always got in trouble because I did more watching of game then cheering. Having a big family comes with some problems, like living situations and schools. I have lived in 6 different cities and 10 different houses. I was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and lived in  two different apartments. I was 2 years old when we moved to Dewitt, AR. The next year we moved to Pine Bluff, AR. In Pine Bluff, we lived in 3 different houses. Then when I was in the 7th grade, we moved to White Hall, AR. We lived there for two years, then moved to Bryant, AR. We have lived in three different houses since moving to Bryant. I still live there but I also live in Arkadelphia, Ar. where I go to college at. My interest are mainly anything to do with sports. I am a tomboy, but I love getting all dressed up and going out. I love to shop, watching television, and hanging out with friends and family. My family is your typical southern family. I, on the other hand, am a southern girl at heart, but I love the big city. Next blog post will be on my favorite TV Shows. XOXO BELLE
